Adding new articles in Joomla 1.5.x
In this article I'll give a brief overview of how to add articles in Joomla 1.5.x For the sake of this article, I will assume you are a website administrator who uses the Joomla backend to add content rather than the front end.
1 Log into your Joomla backend. This is usually found at www.yourwebsite.com/administrator
2 In the administrator menu bar that runs along the top, select the Article Manager as pictured below.

3 Once in the article manager you will want to select 'New' from the article menu bar.
4 Enter your article information including title and alias. Joomla articles must be assigned to a section and category. If you don't want to keep things neat and tidy (although I would certianly reccommend it!) then simply select 'Uncategorised' for the section. The category will then automatically set to 'Uncategorised' as well.
5 Type your article! (you really didn't need me to include this step did you?)
6 Save your article. You will also want to make sure you have set Published to 'Yes' if you want the article to appear on your website. Don't worry if you forgot to set it. 'Yes' is the default setting for new Joomla articles published through the backend.
I hope this helps you add new articles in Joomla 1.5.x As always, let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to help. Click here to contact me.
Remember, all Joomla articles will only appear on your website if you have either assigned a menu item to them or if you have a section or category area of your website that displays articles automatically. I plan on writing an article soon about how the Joomla menu manager. Subscribe to my newsletter if you'd like to be notified of when that article is available.
